The post

Key areas of focus will include:

  • Contributing to strategy development and leading student recruitment for a key regions.
  • Undertaking planning and management for one or more key recruitment channels, e.g. agents, sponsors, direct.
  • Supporting planning and delivery of broader engagement activity with key regions(s) of focus. This covers international relations, partnerships, and building profile and reputation.
  • Developing and managing a range of relationships, within the University, and in-region to support delivery of regional and broader internationalisation objectives.
  • You will be a member of the International Student Recruitment Team, interacting closely with the other International Office (IO) teams, and a wide range of Academic and Professional Service units.

The person

You will be:

Language skills relevant to the regions above are welcome but are NOT essential.

The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to develop a career in international HE.

The Newcastle University Vice Chancellor and President Professor Chris Day took up his post in 2017. A new University Strategy will be launched in 2018, with Internationalisation as a key component. The International office has been reconfigured and significantly expanded to meet deliver this strategy and meet the opportunities and challenges of the global HE environment. You will have the chance to shape and contribute to the development and delivery of strategy, and a newly configured unit and team.

You will have opportunities to develop and build experience and a track record, in a number of key areas: 

  • International recruitment and international relations and partnerships and a range of other facets of international HE
  • Developing global expertise 
  • Sales, marketing, and operations
  • Strategic planning
  • Use of technology and data
  • Leadership and management

The role will be varied and provide a range of other experiences and development opportunities.
